Taxis playing "hard to get".

Cro-Magnon SG

Anybody experienced such frustrations before?

It is impossible to flag down a taxi during peak hours.

It is (almost) impossible to get for a taxi by queuing at a taxi stand during peak hours. Crying or Very sad

Tried queuing for a taxi at Orchard, Suntec City, even at Ikea (queenstown) and I never get a taxi. Empty taxis just refuse to come into the taxi stand. The only ones that come into the taxi stands are those "on call". Evil or Very Mad

Sometimes the taxis I booked did not even turn up! The operator said 10 minutes. I waited for 20+ minutes and on taxi appear!!!

Whine over.

that’s why get to know merc cab drivers. Some of them have their own network and they’ll give u their namecard. You call them directly when u need a cab, they’ll either come to pick u up, or get their friend to come. No additional booking fee.

I have experience waiting for a stupid cab for more than 2hrs.. I called all the booking hotline and none have a cab for me... Very Happy

tts why now i alway make it a point to set out earlier to catch the bus. taxi nowadays are not the put-up-hand-and-get-them already.

I know they want to earn my booking fee but after they sometimes do not show up after the operator confirmed the booking.

if you want to wait for a cab during peak hour, then prepare to wait bah

i rather call for a cab, take my own sweet time to prepare myself, then go down and wait for the cab Very Happy

this is a known problem already

what to do, there is supply and demand

there will be people calling for cab at that time, even i am the cab driver, i would wait for someone to call for a cab and earn that booking fee

damn pek chek man.

this cab driver explained to me this. some cab drivers don't want to fetch certain customers because they can predict where the customer wants to go. lets say from sembawang to woodlands. they don't wanna fetch. then he complain to me say the flag-down fare must increase to $5 den fair to them.

wth. Mad
